RACISM PART 1

Understanding human history in the millennia following agriculture revolution boils down to a single question : How did human organise themselves in mass coorporation network, when they lacked the biological instincts necessary to sustain such network ? The short answer is that humans created imagined orders and devised scripts. These two inventions filled the gap left by our biological inheritance. Some of the imagined order I mentioned in my previous blog are money, caste, religion, god etc. We see in our day to day life that insects like ants work in extreme coordination and discipline and cooperation with fellow ants. How does they do it ? Well the answer is they do it unintentionally through biological instincts. They dont need to think of coordinating with each other, nature had manufactured them in a way that they simply do it with no reason at all without any purpose. They cant sense their own purpose of doing that, but we humans can see and extract out a purpose of that act. Amazing right !! Well every animal does it in their own way such as Migratory birds, Sardine run, all have special instincts that guides them through the process. I dont know know how it feels to act like that but I guess it will be weird.

However appearance of such network was, for many a dubious blessing. The imagined order that sustained these orders were not fair or neutral. They divided people into making and believing in groups and arrange them in hierarchy. The upper levels enjoyed power and privileged, while the lower ones suffered from discrimination and oppression.

Despite its proclamation of equality to all men the imagined order established by the Americans in 1776 also established a hierarchy between whites who enjoyed liberty and black and American Indians, who are considered human of a lesser type and therefore donot share equal rights of men. The American order had cemented the hierarchy between rich and poor. All of distinctions between free person and slaves, between black and whites, between rich and poor are deeply rooted in fictions. For instance, many people who viewed that the hierarchy of free person and slaves as natural and correct have argued that slavery is not a human imagination. HAMMURABI saw it as an order obtained by Gods. For your information, HAMMURABI was the 6th king of the first BABYLONIAN DYNASTY of the AMORITE TRIBE, reigning from 1792 BC to 1750 BC. ARISTOTLE argued that slaves have a slavish nature and free people have free nature. These kind of ideologies are merely a reflection of their innate nature. If you ever ask a superior white man about the inferiority of blacks, you are in for a pseudoscientific lecture concerning the biological differences between the races. You are likely to be told that there is something in the Caucasian ( white skinned European orign ) blood or gene that make them whites naturally more intelligent, moral and hard working. Hindus who adhere to the caste system believe that universal forces had made one caste superior to another. Now according to a famous Hindu creation myth, Gods mould the world out of the body of a primordial being, the PURUSA. The sun was created from te Purusas eye, the moon from the Purusas brain, the Brahmins from its mouth, the Kshyatriyas from its arms, the Vaishyas from its legs. The ancient Chinese believed the godess Nu Wa created humans from earth, aristrocats formed from brown mud. The truth is Brahmins and Sudhras were not created by the gods from different body parts of primordial being. Instead the distinction between the two caste was created by the norms and laws invented in northern Indian about 3000 years ago. There is no known biological difference between slave and free people. These laws and norms turned one part of people into slaves and other into masters. Between black and whites there are noticeable biological difference differences such as skin tone, hair type, also in Cephalic index ( Dolicocephalic means long head with index of 75 or less, example the Negroes and Brachycephalic with index of 80 or above, example the white americans and europeans ) but there is no evidence for differences in intelligence or morality. Blacks are prohibited to study in white school, or to be treated in white hospitals. But the hierarchy of rich and poor which mandates that rich live in seperate and more luxarious neighbourhood, study in seperate and more prestigious school and recieve medical treatment in seperate and more equipped hospitals, these things seems more sensible to Americans and Europeans. But really, unfortunately complex human society requires imagined hierarchies and unjust discrimination in order to regulate it. Not all hierarchies are morally similar, so some group of society suffer more discrimination than others. Time and again, people created order in their society by creating unrealistic imagined orders such as rich and poor, free person, commoners and slaves, black and whites, brahmins and shudras etc. These categories had governed the relation between millions of people making them legally, socio-politically superior to others.

Indian society classify people according to caste. For instance many scholars surmise that Hindu caste system took shape when Indo-Aryan people invaded the Indian subcontinent about 3000 years ago, dominated the local population. The invaders established a stratified society where of course they occupied leading position ( priests and warriors ) and the native were slaves and servants. The invaders who were few, feared of losing their privileged status and unique identity. To supress this danger, they divided the population into castes, each of which was required to have a specific occupation and perform a specific role in the society. Each with different legal status, privileged and duties. Mixing and even sharing meals was prohibited. This distinction with time became a integral part of social hierarchy and an inherent part of religious mythology and practise. The hindu caste system and its laws gets deeply embedded in Indian culture. Long after the Indo-Aryan invasion was forgotten, Indians continued to believe in this shitty caste system and to despise the pollution caused by caste system. Due to caste system, majority of section of people in are living in a desperate life. I means what’s the point of giving benefits to certain section of people considering them as an upper caste and others as lower caste , such a shame. These seperation had engulfed the whole nation putting lives of people in a grime situation. In education sector, government services, healthcare, everywhere caste system had a very huge impact. Is there any genetic or biological inheritary difference between those upper caste and lower caste ? Hell No. All humans on earth ever born and those will born are and will have 99.9% identical genetic make up. Then why this seperation ? Because of this imaginary order of hierarchy that Indo Aryan had established. I might not have seen the big picture i.e behind the scene, but as far as my knowledge is concerned, this caste system and its norms are absolutely ridiculous.

Wrote the whole blog but forgot to mention ‘What is an imagined order’ in the first place. Well folks, an imagined orders are basically intersubjective phenomenas that exists within the communication network linking the subjective consciousness of many individuals. If a single individual changes his or her beliefs, or even dies, it is of little importance. However, if most individual in the network die or change their beliefs, the intersujective phenomena will mutate or disappear. I think it got little bit complex, dont worry.
